.HILTON, N.Y. — Former Hilton principal Kirk Ashton, who was found guilty on Monday of inappropriately touching 24 students, collected more than $65,000 in his separation agreement with the district.

News10NBC obtained the separation agreement on Friday. The agreement said that the district paid Ashton $65,729, a five-months salary, after he announced his resignation in August of 2021. He was also paid for 210 sick days, totaling $12,180, and for 58 vacation days.

Ashton received five equal payments between September 2021 through January 2022.

According to the agreement, Ashton is banned from ever entering the grounds of the Hilton School District or going to school-sanctioned events.

Ashton faces up to 20 years in prison after being found guilty of 46 counts. During the trial, students testified that Ashton inappropriately touched them in his office and school staff members testified about their observations of Ashton and young male students.
