A man has been charged with five felonies after Rochester police said he broke into a house and raped a 16-year-old girl at gunpoint.

Jayshon Rivera, 20 was charged with rape, predatory sexual assault, burglary, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

The Rochester Police Department responded to the report of the rape on Thursday in the northeastern part of Rochester. Officers tracked a stolen vehicle that they said was connected to the incident and tracked it to the 400 block of Alexander Street.

An active shooter situation in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday, left 19 children and two adults dead. Now, however, we find the shooter may have been one of two juveniles arrested in 2018 for plotting such an attack . . . . to be carried out in the year 2022!

A 20-year-old is in the hospital after being shot in the parking lot of East High on Wednesday night.

The Rochester Police Department responded to reports of gunshots just before midnight on East Main and Atlantic Avenue. Officers said they found evidence of gunfire at the school’s parking lot and a bullet went into an unoccupied car.

New York State Police and other agencies arrested a 17-year-old student from Gananda High School for making a terrorist threat on Wednesday.

Members of the school community notified state police around 12:30 p.m. that a student had posted a picture of an assault weapon on social media. DENVER (AP) - A late spring Colorado snowstorm dumped several inches in the Denver metro area Saturday and knocked out electricity for about 210,000 customers, officials said.
