Gov. Hochul could use rare power to remove Mayor Adams Empty Gov. Hochul could use rare power to remove Mayor Adams

As pressure mounts on New York City Mayor Eric Adams to resign amid a criminal indictment, Gov. Kathy Hochul may consider using a seldom-invoked authority to remove him from office. Under the New York Constitution and the city’s charter, Hochul has the power to oust elected officials.

If Hochul moves forward, she would formally charge Adams, provide him an opportunity to respond, and oversee a trial-like process. This power was last used in 1932 when Gov. Franklin Roosevelt removed Mayor Jimmy Walker, who ultimately resigned.

While Hochul has expressed concern over the charges, political considerations may slow her decision. Adams, who pleaded not guilty, faces growing calls to step down but has yet to make that move.

Here a Question

what would happen if Hochul removed Mayor Adams ?

Your dam right every black democrat will start voting republican or Independent .

then what happens the next elections Hochul will be voted out as governor along with other democrats.
so why is it that she throwing Eric Adams under the bus? so she can stay in office and not risk investigation about her and her skeletons in her closet.

you getting the point people of N.y all the democrats are crooked
